Healthy Homemade Popsicles

June 25, 2019

These creamy, healthy homemade popsicles are so easy to make. Take 3 simple ingredients, blend, pour into popsicle moulds and freeze.

I used frozen fruit for this recipe, and it really works best. Sometimes when I have fresh fruit that we are not going to finish, I cut it up and freeze it and eventually come up with a bag of mixed fresh fruit that is great for making these popsicles or even protein shakes or smoothies!

These popsicles are so versatile. You can use any milk and add any fruit or flavourings that suit your taste. I love using full fat coconut milk because it gives a creamier texture and is dairy free. You can also add cocoa powder, peanut butter, chia seeds, shredded coconut… the possibilities are endless.

My kids love making homemade popsicles because it gives them a chance to be creative in the kitchen, and as a parent, I find that when kids help out in the kitchen, they are more likely to eat what they made. These sweet treats are super healthy and use wholesome ingredients which make them a big hit in my books!

Ingredients

  • 1 14oz can of full fat coconut milk (or milk of choice)
  • 1 cup frozen fruit (I used mango and blueberries)
  • 1 banana
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup (or sweetener of choice)

Directions:

  • Add all ingredients to your Vitamix, or high speed blender
  • Pour the mixture in to moulds
  • Freeze until set

And you’re done!

Enjoy!
