Beachbody – 80 Day Obsession
On May 22, with the help of my dear friend (and now Beachbody Coach) @im_juliana, I joined Beachbody. Beachbody on Demand gives you access to 700+ workouts you can do ANYWHERE. I chose to do the 80 Day Obsession with celebrity trainer, @autumncalabrese. Autumn is very well known for many successful fitness and nutrition programs such as, the 21 Day Fix or even her amazing cookbook, Fixate.
I am on Day 28 of the program and let me tell you, it is INTENSE. It challenges me and motivates me to do the work and make the changes that make me feel good about ME. I really need structure, so the fact that this program comes with a meal plan is a huge bonus. I also love the tracking sheets because it not only allows me to annotate my progress, but it holds me accountable. Accountable to myself and my goals which I have set to achieve at the end of 80 days.
I believe this program to be especially great for working moms, or those who have demanding work schedules because you can literally do this workout anywhere with minimal equipment. So there are literally NO EXCUSES! How’s that for accountability? Haha I’ve always worked out with a trainer and I love working out with a trainer especially when I want to lift heavier and do things I can’t do on my own (shout out to my trainer BFF @javierchimal) because I want to make sure my form is on point to avoid injury.
In terms of motivation and form, Autumn is great for continuously reminding us to check our form and when the exercise moves get really intense, she talks through it and reminds you why you started the program, what do you want from today’s workout. I find her motivational words to be truly inspiring to the point that I am up at 5:30am to do these workouts…who knew?! Plus, if you are just starting out or find some moves harder than others, there is almost always a modification to an exercise move so you don’t feel discouraged.
In these 28 days, I am down 3lbs, and 8 inches. The truth? I’m proud of myself, but I could have done better with my eating. I may have indulged a little too much at some occasions, but I don’t regret it. I still made progress and the strength that I have when I do my workouts has increased considerably since day one. It’s all about balance and doing things at YOUR own pace without comparing yourself to others.
For anyone that is looking to make a change, to live a healthier lifestyle, to be stronger, I totally recommend this program. I’m loving my results so far and can’t wait to see what the rest of phase two has in store!
